Ameren Ue Payment Agreement

PEORIA, Ill., March 15 /PRNewswire/ — Ameren Illinois (AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO, AmerenIP) is for private customers with outstanding account balances to help them take advantage of the payment plans and programs of the Illinois Utility Rate Relief. To establish a payment plan, customers can call their Ameren Illinois utility: AmerenCIPS – 1-888-789-2477; AmerenCILCO – 1-888-672-5252 and AmerenIP – 1-800-755-5000. Private customers who have outstanding balances and have not established a payment plan or comply with a payment plan will be separated from April. Starting April 1, customers will have to pay 25 per cent of the outstanding balance before establishing a payment plan. Ameren Illinois` Act On Energy® initiative helps customers spend less energy by using less energy. Act On Energy offers customers free energy-saving advice, financial discounts and incentives. For more information on Act On Energy programs for individuals, visit ActOnEnergy.com, by phone at 1-866-838-6918 or by email at: ActOnEnergyResidential@ameren.com. “Now, until March 31, a customer can establish a payment plan by paying only 10 per cent of the outstanding balance. The remaining portion of the outstanding balance is paid monthly with the current bill amount for each month,” said Mr. Ogden. The economic downturn has also weighed on our customers, causing some to fall back on their bills,” said Stan Ogden, vice president of customer services and public relations at Ameren Illinois Utilities. “We reach our customers with outstanding balances, making it as easy as possible to establish a payment plan.” Our goal is to avoid service shutdowns,” Ogden said. We will only separate the service if all reasonable efforts to establish a payment plan have failed or if the customer has not paid the agreed payments. Some clients may also be eligible for support from LIHEAP, which is run by local community action agencies. Liheap offers payments to low-income households, the elderly and people with disabilities. Subsidies are based on the number of people in a household, total income and the type of energy consumed.

Eligible Ameren Illinois customers can also benefit from two rescue programs for The Indoor Serums. The low-income electricity assistance program, with household incomes between 150 and 200 per cent of the federal poverty line, provides energy assistance of up to $300. Personal hardship assistance provides grants of up to $600 based on the difficulties with which clients receive household income of up to 400% of the federal poverty line. A service separation occurs only after Ameren Illinois has attempted to contact the customer and a final service disruption notification has been issued. Grants are provided by local community action agencies that manage the Low Home Income Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Customers can call 1-877-411-9276 for the name and address of their local community action agency.
